At Extra Space Self Storage, we offer various types of storage, ranging from personal self storage to business storage. We have the facilities to cater for your short-term and long-term storage needs, including furniture, student, moving, and office equipment storage.
Our North London storage facilities are located at 303-305 Cricklewood Broadway, London NW2 6PG and 15 Kingsgate Place, Kilburn, London NW6 4TA.
Our Birmingham storage facilities are located in Solihull (16 Highlands Road, Solihull, Birmingham B90 4ND) and Kings Heath (Warstock Road, Kings Heath, Birmingham B14 4ST).
If you've received a better quote for a like-for-like storage unit in the area, offering same features and access levels, please let us know and we’ll be happy to improve it.

Our storage facilities are extremely secure with 24/7 CCTV security cameras and padlocks to each storage unit. Our self storage units are individually alarmed, and all access activity is recorded. Also, staff and customers use unique codes to get through several entry barriers before being able to access the inside.
We also carry out alarm and lock checks throughout the day. This way, we ensure extra security for every single unit.
Yes, there are a few items that cannot be stored in your storage unit for health and safety purposes. This includes flammable materials (gas, paint, lithium ion batteries, etc), hazardous waste, perishable food, live animals and any illegal substances. Be sure to get in touch with us should you require extra information regarding this.
We have many different storage units available, ranging from 8 sq ft to 250 sq ft. We also have external drive-up storage units available that can be rented out.
Indoor storage units are usually temperature and humidity-monitored with dehumidifier units installed for extra protection.
External units are very popular due to easy and extra convenient drive-up access, and though they don't have a dehumidifier system, they are all fully insulated and ventilated to keep your items safe and dry.
Yes, there is lighting inside the storage units so you will be able to access your storage unit when it's dark out, too.

Yes, our locations have a retail store that sells packaging materials and crates that you can rent.
You will need to give 7 days for private storage customers and 28 days for business storage customers. Notice can be given in person, over the phone or via email.
If you think you might have forgotten to lock your unit, please contact us, and we'll be happy to go and check it for you and put one of our locks on the door if required. Our alarm system records every time the unit is opened and closed, so we'd be able to check when the unit was accessed. If we see your unit open while doing daily store checks, we'll lock it and contact you to advise. We'll always do our best to make sure your items are safe and secure with us.
In the unlikely event of your unit being broken into or damaged, we will contact you ASAP and investigate the issue, taking action as a matter of urgency. All units are individually alarmed, and security is always given a priority at Extra Space. We make sure all health and safety checks and tasks are done and recorded regularly to minimise any risks. And of course, we do recommend all customers to insure the items with sufficient cover for extra peace of mind.
The extra costs would include a fully refundable security deposit (equal to one month's rent, paid on the move-in day and refundable after the unit has been vacated), insurance charges if you take up our policy and, based on the stored items' value, the cost of renting or buying a padlock if you don't have your own. Extra costs could also include any other packaging materials.
Yes, you can give other people access to your storage unit by sharing your access code and giving your authorised persons the keys or combination to your unit padlock. If you ever send them and need us to show them around, please make sure to email us letting us know who you are granting access to and tell them to bring IDs.
